Here’s what is happening for construction and maintenance around Beaumont this week: New projects/updates: 50 Avenue water feedline construction: Crews continue to use directional drilling to install the water feedline underneath 50 Avenue and 50 Street this week, with no additional traffic impacts expected at this intersection. One-way alternating traffic continues between 55 Street and École Bellevue School. For the upcoming week, both eastbound lanes on 50 Ave east of 50 Street will be closed. Two-way traffic will be maintained. Please follow the signage in place. Cenotaph construction – Beaumont Sport and Recreation Centre (BSRC): The Cenotaph monument is being delivered and installed at the BSRC this week. The roundabout will be closed temporarily when the cenotaph is installed. Snow and ice control installation – BSRC: The parking stalls and sidewalk directly next to the north side of the Beaumont Sport and Recreation Centre (BSRC) will be temporarily closed for approximately one week to install permanent snow and ice guards on the roof ahead of the winter season. Nature Park playground renewal: Nature Park is closed for playground renewal work. The renewal includes removing existing playground structures, installing new playground equipment, replacing the playground border and adding a layer of new wood chips to the play area. Ongoing projects: Temporary road and sidewalk closure in Coloniale Estates: A temporary road and sidewalk closure on Rue Bouchard between Coloniale Way and Brochu Court. Access will be restricted to local traffic only for residents on Rue Bouchard to access their homes and driveways. The closure is expected to last until September 21. Underground utility repairs – Triomphe Estates: Two localized road and sidewalk closures are in place near 36 Street and Triomphe Boulevard and 35 Street near 45 Avenue for underground utility repairs. Temporary detours are in place while the work is underway. Transformer relocation – Dansereau Meadows: FortisAlberta is relocating a transformer near 65 Street and 62 Avenue in Dansereau Meadows. Parking lane and sidewalk closures are in effect until this work is complete. Wastewater system renewal work: A contractor is completing sewer and manhole cleaning and relining work at several locations in Beaumont. Impacted residents will receive advance notice from the contractor about any water outages or restrictions that may be in place. There may also be short-term, temporary traffic disruptions/lane closures and parking restrictions in place. The Beaumont Sport and Recreation Centre (BSRC) Aquatic Centre will be temporarily closed for annual preventative maintenance from September 10 to October 1. Read more about the closure >> Washroom renovations – Ken Nichol Regional Recreation Centre: The downstairs washrooms are closed for renovations. Use the upper lobby washrooms. Construction traffic – Dansereau Meadows: Expect heavy machinery and trucks crossing along Township Rd 510 for Dansereau development work. Construction traffic – Élan: Expect truck hauling activity near Township Rd 505 and 50 Avenue for Élan development work. Ruisseau sports field construction: Work continues on the sports field construction behind Ruisseau School, including drainage improvements to accommodate new fields. * Projects may be added or revised throughout the week when new details are received.
