Government Boards & Committees
The boards and committees established by Beaumont City Council serve a range of functions that strengthen the community.
With membership appointed from the public by Council, the boards and committees:
Board members are appointed by Council from an annual call for volunteers or as vacancies arise. Board recruitment closes in December and City Council appoints public members in January. Our thanks to everyone who applies to serve the community.
Whether it’s advising City Council on needs for recreation, culture, the arts, or issues affecting youth, or you want a hand in setting the direction for the Beaumont library, hearing subdivision and development appeals, or evaluating funding requests for community groups, there are many ways for you to serve it up!
Beaumont Municipal Library Board
The Beaumont Municipal Library Board provides important oversight, particularly for setting strategic direction, overseeing financial management and reporting, establishing policies and ethical standards for management, and building community relationships.

Arts Advisory Committee
Reviews grant applications and provides guidance to Council on public art, promoting local artists, and strengthening community through artistic expression.

Grant Funding Advisory Committee
Makes recommendations related to the awarding of Community Grant Program funds.

Youth Advisory Committee
Provides advice to Council on matters that have a significant impact to youth in Beaumont, such as, but not limited to mental health supports, youth activities and programming, volunteer and employment supports and civic engagement.

Recreation and Culture Advisory Committee
Provides advice to Council on policy, facilities, and programming related to recreation, sports, leisure, heritage, community events and volunteerism.

Regional Assessment Review Board (RARB)
An independent quasi-judicial board co-established by several municipalities under the authority of the Municipal Government Act and the City’s RARB Bylaw.

Subdivision & Development Appeal Board (SDAB)
A quasi-judicial board that hears appeals regarding decisions made by The City of Beaumont subdivision and development authorities and renders decisions based on the evidence presented.
