Recreation Posted on: August 5, 2026 The Beaumont Sport and Recreation Centre (BSRC) Aquatic Centre will be temporarily closed for annual preventative maintenance from Thursday, September 10 through Thursday October 1, 2026. The Aquatic Centre is expected to fully reopen on Friday, October 2, 2026, with all amenities available during regular operating hours. What’s closed? During the shutdown, the entire Aquatic Centre will be closed to the public. There will be no public access to: Pools: Main pool Leisure pool Whirlpool Saunas (dry and steam) Pool deck and aquatic viewing area Aquatic hallways and changerooms The Aquatic Centre will be secured and inaccessible while crews complete scheduled maintenance and facility improvements. Why is the Aquatic Centre closing? The annual shutdown allows staff and contractors to complete maintenance that cannot safely be performed while the facility is operating. This year’s work includes: Re-tiling and epoxy grouting of the leisure pool Maintenance, repair and replacement of mechanical equipment supporting pool operations Partition replacements in the universal and men’s changerooms Preventative maintenance and inspections throughout the Aquatic Centre These projects help extend the life of the facility, improve reliability and reduce the likelihood of unexpected service interruptions. Aquatic programming The Aquatic Centre is expected to reopen Friday, October 2 with regular operating hours and all aquatic amenities available. Swimming lessons and aquatic courses begin Monday, October 5 School swimming lessons begin Tuesday, October 13 Where to swim during the closure BSRC members can access the Leduc Recreation Centre pool during this time.
