Home safety

Know what’s below before digging! Residents and contractors planning to do any work that involves digging into the ground are required to get underground utility locates done before work begins.

  • Water, sewer and storm service locates in the City of Beaumont can be requested online.
  • Gas, power and fibre optic line locates are not overseen by the City of Beaumont and must be done through Alberta One Call.
  • For all other utility locates on private property, contact a third-party company.

Community safety

For public water and wastewater emergencies, such as watermain breaks and flooded roads, contact the City of Beaumont:

  • during business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm) at 780-929-4306 or
  • after-hours (evenings and weekends) at 780-955-7778.

For plumbing and sewage concerns on private property, contact a plumber or qualified contractor.

Pets and Animal Control

Stormwater ponds add scenic, natural-looking water features to communities, but they have an important job to do and are working drainage infrastructure. With stormwater constantly flowing in and out and fluctuating water levels, they aren’t safe for skating, swimming, walking on or any other recreational use. Stick to walking paths and use other safe outdoor skating rinks instead.
