Home & Neighbourhood Waste & Recycling
The City of Beaumont focuses on our waste program being smart, savvy and green. We work hard to do our part for the environment and our community. That is why Beaumont Waste Services encompasses a curbside collection program that includes waste carts, organics carts, and recycling.
The 2024/2025 collection schedule [pdf].
We currently have a Monday to Friday waste collection schedule. This schedule is split into two zones, with your household zone having specific dates and changes.
Garbage collection (grey waste cart) is bi-weekly.
Organics collection (green waste cart) is weekly during the summer months and bi-weekly during the winter months. Organics will remain on a weekly schedule until October 27 when it moves back to the regular bi-weekly schedule.
Recycling is picked up weekly.
There will be waste pick up on all Statutory Holidays with the exception of Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. The rescheduled dates are posted in December.
If you are having trouble determining what your collection day is, you can search your address here and it will show you or you can contact the City at 780-929-4306.
The City of Beaumont has an app to help make your curbside collection more accessible/easy? It’s got everything you need. View your garbage and recycling schedule and receive collection notifications all from within this app.
Download the Savvy Waste App for free in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Brown Bag Yard Waste Collection happens annually in the spring and is part of the full collection schedule. Please take note of the zones/timelines for each zone.
Our waste contractor will pick up yard waste contained in compostable brown bags. If you’re unable to make the pickup schedule, jump down to the Yard Waste & Landfill information.
NOTE: There are no limits on Brown Bag Collection
Did you know that we have yard waste collection bins for residents at the Operations Facility (24130 Township Road 510) available for specific days every week during the heaviest spring and fall yard clean-up time?
Every year Infrastructure provides large bins for residents to drop off additional yard waste. You will be able to bring your yard waste during the following schedule:
*CLOSED ON STAT HOLIDAYS
Find more information on our waste facilities.
If you need clarification about an item you believe would be classified as yard waste but are not 100% certain, please contact our Infrastructure team at 780-929-4306.
If you are not able to make it to our facility during the designated times, as a resident of Beaumont you are able to dispose of extra waste at the Leduc & District Waste Management Facility free of charge. Residents are permitted to dispose of an extra 1 tonne (1000 kgs) of household waste per year at the facility. You can also bring yard waste to the Yard Waste Transfer Station in Leduc.
The City of Beaumont offers a curbside collection of large items in the spring.
White-block styrofoam is accepted at the Eco Station in Leduc for recycling.
This service enhancement allows residents to drop off limited quantities of styrofoam at the Eco Station for free during regular hours of operation. A mobile processing unit that uses new technology collects the styrofoam from the Eco Station one or two times per month. For full details, check out Leduc’s Eco Station announcement.
Did you know that we have a bylaw outlining certain regulations around waste/collection? This includes organic materials. This Waste Management Bylaw (762) [pdf] helps keep us moving forward towards a smart, savvy and green future. The Bylaw covers a wide range of regulations:
Our annual Recycling Roundup was held on Saturday, June 1 from 9 am to 2 pm. Residents responsibly disposed of unwanted items at our Operations Facility.
You can save these for our next Roundup!
