The part has arrived, and the underground portion of the work is anticipated to be completed by early- to mid-November. 50 Avenue between 44 St to 48 Street is open and the detour is no longer in place. Only a small portion of 47 Street between 50A Avenue and 50 Avenue is closed during the repair. What to expect Road closure: 47 Street is closed between 50A Avenue and 50 Avenue. Local traffic can access 50 Avenue via 50A Avenue and 44 Street. Digging and pipe repair: The work involves digging up the road and ground to repair the existing pipe, and complete restoration. Project timelines Work is in progress. The contractor is tentatively scheduled to complete the underground repair work by early- to mid-November, pending weather, schedule changes or other unforeseen factors. Safety The safety of residents and crews is our top priority. Please follow all posted signs, construction barriers and keep a safe distance from the work area and equipment. Do not move any barricades, cones or barriers in place – these are in place for safety purposes. Project benefits The project includes repairing the sanitary line to service the community now and in the future. The work is happening concurrently with the 50 Avenue water feedline project, allowing for coordination between the two projects. The repair was included as part of the City’s 2026 Capital Project work and supports the City’s long-term infrastructure planning and asset management strategies to support Beaumont now and in the future.
