Active Commuting updatesConstruction updates Here’s what’s happening around Beaumont for construction and maintenance work this week: New projects: Fire hydrant replacements – Beau Meadows: One-day hydrant replacements are happening this week. Watch for temporary sidewalk detours and parking restrictions. Temporary water outage – Rhonda Bay and Racine Court: On May 13, homes in Rhonda Bay and some homes in Racine Court may experience a temporary water outage while contractors complete work on a nearby watermain. Impacted residents will receive notices. Ruisseau sports field construction: Work is underway on the sports field construction behind Ruisseau School, including drainage improvements to accommodate new fields. Irrigation system repairs near Coloniale Park: The City will be working on repairs to the irrigation system near Coloniale Park from May 12-21, pending weather. Partial trail closures are in effect and signs will be posted. Washroom renovations – Ken Nichol Regional Recreation Centre: Upper lobby washrooms are closed for renovation. Use downstairs washrooms during the closure. Aquatic changeroom upgrades – Beaumont Sport & Recreation Centre: Aquatic changerooms will be closed between May 12–15. Closures will be phased and replacement facilities available. See BSRC signage or aquatic programs page for details. 30 Avenue between 49 Street to alleyway (Beau Val): A portion of the north sidewalk on 30 Avenue between 49 Street and the alley will be closed for landscaping from May 11-June 15. Use the south sidewalk detour. Project updates: Street sweeping: Crews start residential sweeping this week in the NE quadrant and Le Rêve. Read more and see the 2026 schedule >> Le Rêve traffic lights: The traffic lights at 50 Street and Le Rêve Drive will be activated Monday, May 11. Ongoing projects: Pothole repairs: Crews are working on permanent pothole repairs throughout the city. Please slow down and watch for temporary barricades. Learn more about pothole repairs >> Pathway construction – 30 Avenue: A contractor is completing the pathway connection on 30 Avenue between 60 Street and Duval Crescent. Watch for construction traffic and vehicles parked along the road. Flaggers will direct traffic during peak times. Sidewalk repairs – Parklane and Brookside: Crews will be out doing assessments and sidewalk repairs. Please obey temporary sidewalk closures in place. Fence replacement – 50 Street: Crews are replacing the municipal fence between 30 Avenue and 32 Avenue on the east side of 50 Street. Nearby residents received notices and impacts will be minimal. Construction traffic – 50 Street: Expect heavy machinery and trucks crossing 50 Street near McDonald’s and Petro Canada during commercial construction work. * Projects may be added or revised throughout the week when new details are received.
