Here’s what’s you can expect to see around the city this week: New projects/updates: 50 Avenue water feedline construction: Hydrovac work is happening at the 50 Ave and 50 St intersection for the water feedline project this week. Rotating lane closures will be in effect, and traffic may be slow through the area. Please plan accordingly and drive carefully through the area while workers are present. Street sweeping: Street sweeping will continue in the NW quadrant and is expected to wrap up this week. Read more and see the 2026 schedule >> Wastewater system renewal work: Throughout the summer, a contractor is completing sewer and manhole cleaning and relining work at several locations in Beaumont. Impacted residents will receive advance notice from the contractor about any water outages or restrictions that may be in place. There may also be short-term, temporary traffic disruptions/lane closures and parking restrictions in place. Portable delivery – École Beau Meadows School: Portable classrooms will be delivered to École Beau Meadow School starting June 8. A daily no‑parking zone will be in effect along the east side of 44 Street from 50 Avenue to the school, with possible short-term road closures on 50 Avenue and Range Road 241 for wide-load vehicles during transport. Cenotaph construction – Beaumont Sport and Recreation Centre (BSRC): Construction on the Cenotaph project begins June 8 at the BSRC. The roundabout and entrance off 50 Avenue and Rue Eaglemont will be closed, but sidewalk access remains open, including the ramp and drop-off area for those with accessibility needs. Ongoing projects: Summer water system maintenance: City water crews are conducting annual summer water system maintenance, including hydrant painting and flushing, valve exercising and other preventative work to support ongoing system reliability. Ruisseau sports field construction: Work is underway on the sports field construction behind Ruisseau School, including drainage improvements to accommodate new fields. 30 Avenue between 49 Street to alleyway (Beau Val): A portion of the north sidewalk on 30 Avenue between 49 Street and the alley will be closed for landscaping from May 11-June 15. Use the south sidewalk detour. Washroom renovations – Ken Nichol Regional Recreation Centre: Upper lobby washrooms are closed for renovation. Use downstairs washrooms during the closure. * Projects may be added or revised throughout the week when new details are received.
