Here’s what’s happening around Beaumont for construction and maintenance work this week:

New projects/updates:

  • 50 Avenue water feedline construction: Hydrovac work is starting along 50 Avenue between the main pumphouse and St. Vital pumphouse. Directional drilling to install the new waterlane under 50 Ave and 50 St is also expected to begin. Work will continue until the end of October.
  • Street sweeping: Crews have paused sweeping due to rain. Sweeping will continue in the SW quadrant once things dry up again. Read more and see the 2026 schedule >>
  • Crosswalk installation – Dansereau Meadows: A contractor is planning to add a marked crosswalk on Rue Eaglemont near École Dansereau Meadows School. Watch for temporary sidewalk closures.

Ongoing projects:

  • Asphalt repair – 50 Street: A contractor is completing asphalt repairs on the south end of 50 Street between 30 Avenue and 43 Avenue. Please watch for signs and temporary lane closures.
  • Summer water system maintenance: City water crews are conducting annual summer water system maintenance, including hydrant painting and flushing, valve exercising and other preventative work to support ongoing system reliability.
  • Ruisseau sports field construction: Work is underway on the sports field construction behind Ruisseau School, including drainage improvements to accommodate new fields.
  • 30 Avenue between 49 Street to alleyway (Beau Val): A portion of the north sidewalk on 30 Avenue between 49 Street and the alley will be closed for landscaping from May 11-June 15. Use the south sidewalk detour.
  • Washroom renovations – Ken Nichol Regional Recreation Centre: Upper lobby washrooms are closed for renovation. Use downstairs washrooms during the closure.
