City updatesProtective services Posted on: October 19, 2026 Beaumont’s Municipal Enforcement team grew this year, with three new peace officers, J. Singh, N. McKenna, and T. Beaumont, joining the team. The Municipal Enforcement fleet also grew by two new enforcement vehicles and one replacement vehicle. These additions were funded in the City’s 2026 budget, which put more resources into Municipal Enforcement. They also support Council’s 2026 to 2030 Strategic Plan, where keeping Beaumont a safe place to live and raise a family is one of three commitments to residents. Under Community Safety and Well-Being, Council committed to prioritizing funding for Municipal Enforcement so the team can meet recommended service levels and support proactive enforcement. What residents will notice More patrols and visible presence in the community. A focus on road safety, including traffic education, enforcement and response to traffic incidents. Reliable, purpose-built vehicles equipped with the lighting, radar and computer systems officers need on the job. Continued proactive enforcement and education efforts. “People want to see us out in their neighbourhoods, and these additions help make that happen,” said Derek Burns, Supervisor, Municipal Enforcement. “With more officers and dependable vehicles, we can spend more time on the road, more time talking with residents and respond faster when something comes up. Our goal is for people to feel safe and comfortable approaching us.” If you see the new officers out and about, say hello or give a friendly Beaumont wave to welcome them to the community.
