For the week of October 11 through October 17, 2021, the Beaumont RCMP responded to 67 calls for service. Some of the calls for service include 911 Act, Assault, Disobeying Order of Court, Fail to Remain at Accident Scene, False Alarms, Fire Prevention Act, Fraud, Health Act, Items lost/ found, Mischief, Traffic Violations, Impaired Operation, Suspicious Persons, Theft of Truck, Traffic Collisions, Trafficking, and Wellbeing Checks.
The Beaumont RCMP conducted 70 traffic stops, resulting in two charges under the Traffic Safety Act.
The RCMP and the City of Beaumont Peace Officer program are encouraging community members to wear reflective gear when they are out for a walk during nighttime. Some other safety tips include:
- Use the sidewalks or pathways.
- Face traffic so you can see others – don’t assume they see you.
- Always be looking up – avoid distracted walking.
- Let someone know you are out for a walk.
