PSA: The province has further updated the REP guidelines.

The Government of Alberta has updated the guidelines for the Restriction Exemption Program (REP) regarding youth sport, fitness and performance activities.

The updated provincial guidelines include:

  • Adult (18 and older) coaches, officials, other volunteers and parents involved with or supporting an exempt children/youth program under the restriction exemption program (17 and under) do require proof of vaccination or testing and ID.
  • In regards to youth aged 12-17 within an entity going forward with the Restriction Exemption Program - the youth aged 12-17 do not need to provide proof of vaccination if they are in the facility solely to participate in recreation or sports activities.
    • If youth participants are going to be doing other things (visiting in a common area, sitting in public areas (e.g. spectator)), then proof of vaccination or negative testing will be required.

These changes will take effect Thursday, September 30 at 5 a.m at the Beaumont Sport and Recreation Centre, Beaumont Community Centre, and Ken Nichol Regional Recreation Centre.
