Special Permission Request Form

A Special Permission is a temporary exemption from specific City bylaws (e.g., Community Standards, Parks and Facilities, Traffic Safety) that allows festivals, markets, block parties and outdoor sporting events to take place. It allows City departments to coordinate on public safety, emergency planning and asset management. It also helps organizers identify and obtain any additional permits required.

Submission of an application does not guarantee approval, and organizers are responsible for securing all necessary permits.

Processing times for Special Permission applications vary and require a minimum of 15 business days. To avoid delays, event organizers are strongly encouraged to submit their Special Permission application at least 8 weeks before the event date.
