Property Tax Reminders: October 31 and November 30

Active Tax notice

Two property tax dates are coming up this fall. One applies to property owners with 2026 property taxes still outstanding, and the other to owners of newly built or recently renovated properties.

2026 Property taxes

If your 2026 property taxes are still outstanding, pay by Saturday, October 31 to avoid an additional 3% penalty, which is added November 1.

Online and phone banking payments must be made by October 31.

Payments left in the Administration Office drop box count as on time if they’re in the box when the office opens on Monday, November 2.

Supplementary tax notices

Supplementary assessment and tax notices will be sent by the end of October to property owners who finished building or completed a major renovation this year. Notices go by email to those signed up for paperless billing and by mail to everyone else. Payment is due Monday, November 30, and a 6% penalty is added December 1 to any balance still owing.

A supplementary assessment covers the part of the year a new or improved property has been occupied, starting from its final occupancy inspection date. That way, each property owner pays their share of property taxes for the time their property is in use.

How to pay

Outstanding 2026 taxes and supplementary taxes can both be paid using any of the City’s payment options:

  • Through online or phone banking
  • Through Virtual City Hall
  • In person or by drop box at the Administration Office, 5600 49 Street
  • Credit cards aren’t accepted.
