Primary Care Grant Attracts Nurse Practitioner to Beaumont

The City’s primary care grant continues to make local healthcare more accessible for Beaumont families with the recent arrival of a nurse practitioner.

Beaumont Family Medical Associates recruited Nurse Practitioner Madeleine Clarke in June with support from the grant. She expects to provide ongoing primary care to 1,100 residents over the next two years, with services including routine check-ups, chronic disease management, and treatment for everyday illnesses.

“We are pleased to welcome Madeleine to Beaumont,” says Mayor Lisa Vanderkwaak. “Attracting a nurse practitioner to the city supports Council’s commitment to community well-being. Having reliable and accessible healthcare close to home makes a world of difference for the vitality of residents.”

Clarke has taken on 140 patients since starting in June. She is taking patients by appointment and is also accepting walk-ins on designated days.

“What drew me to Beaumont is the mix of young families in a fast-growing community, as well as the rural and senior populations,” shares Clarke. “Residents have been incredibly supportive, and patients are happy to have a provider close to home rather than driving almost an hour to an appointment.”

The primary care grant was an added incentive, which made Beaumont the clear choice for the nurse practitioner to set up her practice.

Madeleine is the second recipient of the City’s Primary Care Support Grant, which was introduced in 2025 to expand primary care services in Beaumont.
