HomeownersNeighbourhood Posted on: October 15, 2026 Winter is around the corner, and that means prepping for snow-clearing is starting. Crews need curbs, roadways, boulevards and driveways clear of obstructions to safely remove snow over the winter. Remove curb obstructions by October 30 Residents need to remove any large items near roadway edges, driveways and curbs by October 30. This includes items like: Basketball nets (portable or fixed) Hockey nets Driveway ramps or extensions Planters and bins Other large objects that might get in the way of equipment Items like these are a safety risk for crews, and plows can damage the item, property and equipment if these items are in the way. The City is not responsible for damage to items left on the boulevard or in the right-of-way after October 30. What happens after October 30 Residents who leave curbside obstructions out after October 30 will receive a warning first and will have until 8 am on November 7 to remove them. After that, the City will remove the items, a ticket of up to $200 may be issued, and owners will need to arrange to pick up their items. Getting removed items back Residents can collect removed items by submitting an inquiry through the City’s online portal under the category “Roads – Driveway Concerns.” Once your inquiry is received, someone from Public Works will confirm pickup details with you. Items will be picked up at the Operations yard (24130 Township Road 510). Items that are not claimed will be disposed of under the Traffic Safety Bylaw (sections 72 to 74). Questions?
