Seniors
The FCSS Community Development Coordinator provides one-to-one support to connect seniors to available resources in their community. The coordinator is available to assist residents of Beaumont to apply for various government benefits and subsidies. FCSS can also provide information and referrals for other needs and services, such as counseling and basic needs.
Outreach Home Support
Outreach Home Support (OHS) is a light housekeeping service that clients can choose to access weekly or monthly as needed. Eligible clients may access up to 12 hours of light housekeeping services every month.
Costs & Subsidies
There is an hourly cost for all Outreach Home Support. Subsidies are available through FCSS for eligible clients, based on income guidelines to match Alberta Seniors Benefits.
Elder Abuse
Elder abuse often goes unnoticed, but it can happen anywhere at any time. Elder abuse can include financial, emotional, physical, and sexual mistreatment or neglect. Often, more than one type of abuse occurs at the same time. Help keep our older adult community safe.
Seniors Abuse Helpline
If you, or someone you know, is experiencing abuse, please don't hesitate to call the Seniors' Abuse Helpline. The helpline is available 24 hours a day; seven days a week and they offer support, referrals, and crisis intervention.
Seniors Safe House
SAGE Seniors Association offers a safe house for seniors over the age of 60 who are leaving abusive situations. If you or a senior you know is being abused, please call Safe House Intake at 780-702-1520.
