Community Helpers Program - Now Recruiting Participants!
Beaumont FCSS and Leduc County Family Resource Network have partnered to bring the Alberta Health Services Community Helpers Program to our city. We are looking for participants ages 17 - 24 who possess the characteristics of a helper. Are you naturally gifted at supporting your peers? If so, we want to hear from you!
The Community Helpers Program bridges "formal" and "informal" supports for young people. Often times, young adults are more comfortable seeking emotional help from their peers instead of professional services. This program trains young people to better support their peers in times of emotional crisis through teaching effective communication, coping with stress, handling crisis situations, and knowing when to refer people to professional services.

WHEN: April 13, 20, and 27, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
WHERE: Beaumont FCSS Office - 5817 Rue Eaglemont
