Snowshoeing

Snowshoeing is a fun, accessible way to explore the outdoors and stay active during the winter months.

Snowshoeing is a winter activity that involves walking over snow using special footwear called snowshoes. The wide, lightweight frames help distribute your weight so you don’t sink into deep snow, making it easier to explore snowy trails. It’s low-impact, easy to learn and suitable for all ages, offering a great way to stay active and enjoy the outdoors during winter

Please note: Snowshoe rentals at the Beaumont Sport and Recreation Centre (BSRC) are currently paused.

We recommend snowshoeing at Parc Quatre Saisons/Four Seasons Park.

Other local options for beginners to get the hang of it are:

  • the West Recreation Site
  • soccer fields like Parc Canale Leblanc
  • Promenade Park
  • Montalet Park

Layers! As this is an aerobic activity it is common to get warm quickly. Dressing for the winter weather is the ideal way to snowshoe comfortably. Sturdy water-resistant winter or hiking boots are best.
