With spring arriving and road conditions improving, more Beaumont residents are out enjoying warmer weather, whether walking, cycling or getting out to parks and playgrounds. As warm weather activities pick up across the city, drivers are encouraged to slow down and take extra care on our roads.

Earlier this month, Beaumont Municipal Enforcement carried out Operation Slowdown, a targeted safety initiative that focused on key traffic areas like 50 Street north and Township Road 510. During the initiative, peace officers connected with drivers to reinforce safe speed, particularly in construction zones. In total, 22 vehicles were stopped, including six in active construction zones with workers present.

Warmer temperatures don’t change the importance of safe driving. With construction projects underway, more neighbours out walking and crossing streets, and children riding bikes or playing at local parks, every choice behind the wheel keeps Beaumont safe and welcoming for everyone.

Municipal Enforcement will continue to be visible in the community over the coming months, supporting safe driving and posted speed limits. Thank you to all residents for doing their part—slowing down, staying alert and helping look out for one another. Our community counts on it.
