Programs & Services Cemetery
Clearwater Cemetery is located just south of Beaumont amidst quiet prairie fields. Operated by the City of Beaumont, it is non-denominational and cared for by the Parks department.
Clearwater Cemetery is located south of the City, approximately 1.6 km south of Township Road 625, on the east side of Highway 814/50 Street.
Clearwater Cemetery is open to the public between sunrise and sunset. Pets are prohibited. There is limited parking inside the gate.
Please do not leave articles of value on the graves sites or monuments as the City doesn’t assume any liability for such decorations. Please do not disturb the quiet and good order of the cemetery by noise or other conduct.
A rural cemetery serving our area since 1896, Clearwater Cemetery is located on land donated by the Wood family in 1895. Originally run by the Clearwater United Church, then Leduc County in 1967. Beaumont took over management in 1989.
The original gravesites recall the families who settled in the area, signifying the overall history of the community. A cairn placed in the south-west corner is a marker of the Clearwater Church, which gives the cemetery its name.
Placing a permanent memorial monument is the responsibility of the purchaser.
Monuments for full gravesites may be surface height, pillow top, or vertical up to a height of 4′ including the base.
Monuments for ash plots must be surface height, to a maximum size of 24″x14″. Monuments should be bronze, granite or marble. Monuments must be installed by suitably qualified individuals.
Maintenance is the responsibility of the purchaser.
Full gravesites may be single (6′) or double (9′) depth. Up to three ash urns may be placed on top of fully interred gravesites. All full gravesites must be equipped with a concrete liner. The cost of the liner is the responsibility of the purchaser.
Ash plots may contain one or two urns.
The columbarium has niches of two sizes:
Memorials can be engraved on the door of the niche. Engraving is done by the City’s approved provider and the cost of the engraving is included in the purchase/reservation of the niche.
The fees are subject to GST, as applicable, in accordance with the provisions of the Excise Tax Act. Download the cemetery fees from the Fees and Charges bylaw [pdf].
*Winter fees occur after snow has fallen and/or the ground is frozen.
