Council Posted on: March 8, 2026 Proclamations have been signed by Mayor Lisa Vanderkwaak, containing messages of importance, interest or benefit to citizens of Beaumont. WHEREAS, the United Nations began observing International Women’s Day in 1975 during International Women’s Week; AND WHEREAS, in Canada, women make up more than half of our population; and there is a necessity to raise awareness about the need for women and young girls of the world to have equitable opportunities in employment and education; AND WHEREAS, in Beaumont, we recognize the contributions of women to our community as entrepreneurs, decision-makers, employees, and citizens; AND WHEREAS, we call attention to their ability and willingness to contribute to Canada’s economic, political, and social communities; AND WHEREAS, for many among us, our future depends on the success of women in our community; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT I, Mayor Lisa Vanderkwaak, do hereby proclaim March 8, 2026 as: International Women’s Day
