NeighbourhoodProtective servicesRCMP Posted on: December 3, 2025 The holidays are here and Beaumont is celebrating! It’s a joyful time—and a time to look out for one another. Beaumont RCMP and Municipal Enforcement will be conducting check stops throughout the season to keep our roads safe and check for impaired drivers. Additionally, Beaumont Fire Services, Municipal Enforcement and RCMP will be back on December 16 from 1 to 3 pm for their annual Candy Cane Check Stop at 50 Avenue and 52 Street. Stop by, say hi to your local protective services team and grab a candy cane while promoting safe driving this holiday season. Safe driving during the holidays Driving impaired includes several factors, like alcohol consumption, cannabis, illegal drugs, certain medications and even extreme fatigue. No matter the cause, impaired driving puts everyone at risk and can have serious consequences like fines, licence suspensions and vehicle seizures. Let’s help keep each other safe by making smart choices. Here is how you can plan ahead: Eat before you drink and pace yourself. Know your own limits and listen to your body. Hosting a party? Check that guests have a safe way home and offer non-alcoholic options. Be a designated driver or plan to have one. Call a cab, rideshare app or family and friends if you need a safe ride home. Get a ride to the party so you aren’t tempted to drive later. If you think someone is impaired, take their keys and help them get home safely. If you suspect someone is driving impaired, keep yourself safe, make note of key details about the vehicle, driver and licence plate and call 9-1-1. Together, we can keep the season filled with celebration, connection and care — for everyone on the road and in our community.
