Council Posted on: February 17, 2026 Proclamations have been signed by Mayor Lisa Vanderkwaak, containing messages of importance, interest or benefit to citizens of Beaumont. WHEREAS, Bullying Awareness Day (Pink Shirt Day) highlights Beaumont’s commitment to a safe and inclusive community; AND WHEREAS, acts of bullying, cyber-bullying, harassment, intimidation, and violence have a profound effect on an individual’s feelings of safety, self-worth, and ability to learn, and are unacceptable in a safe, caring, and orderly society; AND WHEREAS, communities, workplaces, families, schools, and individuals all have a critical role to play in modelling, teaching, and promoting socially responsible behaviour; AND WHEREAS, Bullying Awareness Day (Pink Shirt Day) is an opportunity to actively promote respectful and kind behaviour, and to celebrate the actions of individuals, schools, and groups to address bullying; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT I, Mayor Lisa Vanderkwaak, do hereby proclaim February 25, 2026 as: Bullying Awareness Day (Pink Shirt Day)
