What is the Central Area Redevelopment Plan and Land Use Bylaw?
- The Central Area Redevelopment Plan is a statutory plan which provides the framework for encouraging and guiding development and redevelopment in the Centre-Ville area of Beaumont with the goal of making Centre-Ville the major business, social, cultural, and entertainment focus of the community. It was first adopted in 1986 and was last comprehensively updated and approved by Council in April 2009. Beaumont is initiating a major review of this plan in 2018 in combination with a parking study, economic development strategy, and a review of the French Village Design Guidelines. Stay tuned more information and ways to get involved!
- The Land Use Bylaw is the regulatory document that implements the policy direction set forth in higher level policy. It is at once a plan of future development for Beaumont and the instrument through which the use and development of all lands in the municipality are regulated. The entire Land Use Bylaw will be re-written in 2018 with the help of various stakeholders and input from the public. Additional information and ways of getting involved in this plan re-write will be advertised in the near future!
