Beaumont is the fastest-growing community in the region

The City of Beaumont is experiencing both the benefits and the challenges of transformational growth over the last decade. These exciting growth trends will create opportunities as well as continue to put pressure on City services.

The City is actively planning for solutions and opportunities created by this pressure. A big part of this is getting clear on citizens’ priorities. Between 2023 and 2025, the City connected with more than 1,000 participants at events, through an online survey, and during a series of small-group sessions with citizens and community groups.

Affirming priorities and exploring ideas

Over the last several years, the citizens have engaged on a range of City policies, strategies, and master plans. We have learned that citizens of Beaumont have exciting ideas for our future. This dialogue will help shape how Beaumont plans, delivers, and invests in services and projects to meet the needs of both current and future citizens.

Along with building a heightened understanding of the many priorities being managed by the City and recent accomplishments, the projects goals included:

  • An affirmation of citizen’s priorities for City services and amenities
  • A sense of citizen willingness to consider different methods for funding and implementing community and Council priorities

Among citizens’ priorities, the leading themes were:

  • Deliver on core municipal services
  • Maintain and enhance what already exists
  • Strategically prioritize major initiatives to achieve community pride and satisfaction

When it came to paying for services and amenities, citizens prioritized funding for core services and ensuring sustainability over the long-term.
