HomeownersNeighbourhood Posted on: October 23, 2025 Winter is on its way, and we’re getting ready for snow-clearing season. To help crews work safely and efficiently, all curbside obstructions must be removed by October 31. Curb obstructions include: Portable or fixed basketball nets Driveway ramps or extensions Hockey nets Planters and bins Other large objects left along the boulevard or roadway edge Keeping curbs clear helps snow crews work safely, prevents property and equipment damage, and keeps our streets ready for winter. The City is not responsible for any damage to items left in the right-of-way or on boulevards after October 31. What happens after October 31: The City is taking an education-first approach, providing residents with a warning period before any ticketing or removal happens. After October 31, Municipal Enforcement will issue warnings to properties that still have curbside obstructions. Residents will have until 8 am on November 7 to remove their items. If items are not removed by that time, they may be seized and taken to the City’s Operations Yard, and a ticket of up to $200 may be issued. Retrieving seized items If your item has been removed, you can request to retrieve it by submitting an inquiry through the City’s online portal under the category “Roads – Driveway Concerns.” Once your inquiry is received, a member of the City will confirm pickup details. Items will be available for collection from the Operations Yard (24130 Township Road 510) on November 14 between 9 am and 4 pm. Items not claimed after this date will be disposed of in accordance with the Traffic Safety Bylaw 1026-23 Traffic Safety Bylaw(Sections 72-74). Thank you to all residents who have already cleared their curbs. Your cooperation helps keep our streets safe and ready for snow operations. For questions, contact Municipal Enforcement at 780-851-9992.
