The City of Beaumont invites Alberta-based artists and artist teams to submit qualifications for a new public art installation at the Chantal Bérubé Community Youth Centre (CBYC). The answers to project questions submitted by July 30, 2025 are below:

Q1. What are the dimensions of the north side of the building?

A1. Rough measurements are:

Width = 57′
Height of the 2 sides = 14′
Middle height = 24′


Q2. Can the site be visited?

A2. The outside of the building can be visited anytime at 5202 50 Street.


Q3. How much revision of the proposed artwork is expected?

A3. There could be adjustments due to feedback from stakeholders.


Q4. Will the artwork be recreated for any digital campaigns or used on any merchandise?

A4. This has not been a part of the discussion up to this point but could be an option in the future.


Q5. Would a 50% budget advancement be available upfront at the signing of the contract?

A5. If your proposal was selected, this could be discussed with the City.


Q6. Does the City of Beaumont have access to a scissor lift that could be used for this project to offset the cost of renting one?

A6. Artists are responsible for managing all aspects of the project delivery.


Q7. What is the expected timeline for the project’s completion, from the initial contract date to its conclusion?

A7. We want to have an agreement in place before the end of 2025, with the project wrapped up by October 2027.


Q8. For the second stage of the submission, is the design theme open to artist proposal, or are there specific and preferred themes or preferences for the project?

A8. The theme is open to your proposal.
