City updatesMedia releasesPartnerships Posted on: July 10, 2025 The Mayors of municipalities in the Edmonton Region are reaffirming their commitment to work together and continue to build a strong and prosperous future for the region. As Canada’s fastest-growing region, the Edmonton area is a hub for investment, innovation and opportunity. This population growth, recent trade uncertainty and a rapidly evolving global economy have made collaboration more important than ever. “All of our citizens benefit when our communities work together,” said Bill Daneluik, Mayor of Beaumont. “Today’s economic and political realities require that we cooperate on regional planning to support healthy, coordinated growth and reduce barriers to attract investment.” “For over 70 years, collaboration in the Edmonton Metropolitan Region has taken many forms, evolving to meet the challenges of the times and the needs and priorities of our members,” said Allan Gamble, Mayor of Parkland County. “We know we’re stronger when we work together, and we remain committed to partnership and trust across the region.” The region’s municipal leaders continue to meet regularly to explore future opportunities for collaboration — aimed at maximizing regional resources, improving services, and responding thoughtfully to growth pressures. These conversations will continue until the start of the 2025 municipal election period and are expected to resume following the municipal election in the fall.
