Apply for a Council board or committee

The City of Beaumont is inviting residents to apply for volunteer positions on Council boards and committees.

Boards and committees are made up of residents who volunteer their time to provide advice and perspectives to City Council. Members review information, share experiences, and take part in discussions that help shape programs and services in Beaumont. Most committees meet a few times each year, and training and support are provided. Serving on a board or committee is a meaningful way to learn more about how your city works and to contribute your ideas and experience. 

There are vacancies for 2026 appointments on the following committees:

Interested residents are encouraged to learn more or apply by October 15, 2025.

Arts Advisory Committee

Reviews grant applications and provides guidance to Council on public art, promoting local artists, and strengthening community through artistic expression.

Beaumont Municipal Library Board

The Beaumont Municipal Library Board provides important oversight, particularly for setting strategic direction, overseeing financial management and reporting, establishing policies and ethical standards for management, and building community relationships.

Makes recommendations related to the awarding of Community Grant Program funds.

Recreation and Culture Advisory Committee 

Provides advice to Council on policy, facilities, and programming related to recreation, sports, leisure, heritage, community events and volunteerism.

Subdivision and Development Appeal Board 

A quasi-judicial board that hears appeals regarding decisions made by The City of Beaumont subdivision and development authorities and renders decisions based on the evidence presented.

Youth Advisory Committee

The Youth Advisory Committee provides advice to Council on matters that have a significant impact to youth in Beaumont, such as, but not limited to mental health supports, youth activities and programming, volunteer and employment supports and civic engagement.
