Recreation Posted on: December 1, 2025 Update – December 1, 2025 The main pool and waterslide at the BSRC Aquatic Centre reopened at 10 am today. Thank you for your patience through this year’s maintenance season. Other amenities like the leisure pool, whirlpool, dry sauna and steam sauna remain open. Update – November 28, 2025 The BSRC Aquatic Centre main pool and waterslide will remain closed as annual maintenance and facility improvements continue. On Thursday, November 27, Alberta Health Services (AHS) notified the City that a recent water sample from the main pool did not meet safety standards. Consequently, the main pool and waterslide will remain closed until AHS confirms a satisfactory sample. The BSRC team responded immediately by increasing chlorine levels overnight and, after consulting with the AHS inspector, submitted new water samples this morning. The testing process takes approximately 48 hours, and results are expected by Sunday evening or Monday morning. The main pool will reopen as soon as AHS provides clearance. Available amenities While the main pool and waterslide remain closed, the following amenities are available: Leisure pool Whirlpool Dry sauna Steam sauna Public hours The Aquatic Centre will remain open from 8:30 am to 9 pm on Saturday and Sunday (November 29 & 30). Aqua Fit classes – November 30 & December 1 Guests registered for Aqua Fit will be contacted directly, as these classes are impacted by the main pool closure. While this work is underway, BSRC members can use their membership to access the Leduc Recreation Centre pool at no extra cost. Your patience is appreciated as work continues to maintain the highest water quality and safety standards. Updates will be shared as soon as additional information is available. Update – November 26, 2025 Great news! The whirlpool at the BSRC Aquatic Centre reopened on Saturday, November 22. Thank you for your patience while the maintenance needed to keep the space safe and enjoyable for everyone was completed. All other aquatic amenities—including the leisure pool, saunas, and changerooms—are open as usual. The main pool and waterslide are still on track to reopen on November 29. Reminder: BSRC members’ temporary access to the Leduc Recreation Centre pool will end on Friday, November 28. Changeroom lockers update: In the past, both digital lockers and bring-your-own-lock options have been available. After ongoing issues with the digital lockers, the BSRC has replaced them all with bring-your-own-lock lockers. If you need a lock, they are available for purchase at the front desk—$12 for a combination lock or $15 for a key lock (GST included). Thank you again for your patience during these upgrades.
