New Pool Hours for 2026

Attention swimmers! Starting January 2, 2026, Beaumont Sport and Recreation Centre (BSRC) will implement updated Winter 2026 pool closing hours, following approval in the 2026 municipal budget. These changes reflect careful planning to balance community recreation needs with safety, staffing and sustainable operations.

Why the change?

The City reviews facility operations for safe staffing levels, maintenance and energy efficiency while remaining responsible with municipal funds. After analyzing attendance patterns, staffing costs and maintenance requirements, it was determined that adjusting pool closing hours would help keep operations sustainable while still providing a variety of programs for the community.

Updated pool hours

• Monday–Friday: 5:30 am – 9 pm (previously closing at 10 pm)
• Saturday: 6 am – 9 pm (previously closing at 10 pm)
• Sunday: 7 am – 6 pm (previously closing at 9 pm)

New Sunday morning Adult Swimmer classes

Thanks to the budget, we’ve added three Sunday morning Adult Swimmer classes with additional participant spots—giving more adults the opportunity to improve technique, fitness and wellbeing.

Facility access changes

For safety and security, the following doors will be locked after the pool closes each day:

• Aquatic changerooms
• Aquatic hallway double door access
• Door from the fitness stairs

There will be no public access afterhours, as staff will not be regularly monitoring the aquatics areas. Please plan your visits accordingly.

Impacts

• Lane Swim and Public Swim will end earlier on weekdays and weekends according to the new schedule.
• Two Friday night Adult Swimmer classes will no longer run but are replaced by Sunday morning sessions.
