Security payment incentives

The City provides developers with options to reduce their security payments based on previous standing, to encourage responsible development. Review the Final Security Guidelines [pdf] for more info.

Security amounts

Note: For all categories, minimum security is $30,000 and final lift holdback is 100%. The full security amount will be released upon issuance of all Final Acceptance Certificates in accordance with the Development Agreement. 

Construction Completion Certificates are referred to as CCC.

Upon issuance of all Construction Completion Certificates (CCC) for permanent municipal improvements the security amount will be reduced (as per the Development Agreement) by the outlined percentage of total original estimated construction costs below, or $30,000, whichever is greater.

Transportation

Airport

  • Beaumont is located approximately 10 kilometers from the Edmonton International Airport, with easy access directly from Highway 625.
  • The Edmonton International Airport is Canada’s fifth busiest airport, welcoming more than 7.5 million passengers annually.
  • YEG handled approximately 52,000 tonnes of cargo in the past year, with 80% being domestic and 20% international.
  • The Airport City Sustainability Campus at YEG has attracted more than $1.5 billion in private investment over the past decade.

Beaumont Transit services the community through three primary stop locations. All routes from Beaumont start at the Ken Nichol Regional Recreation Centre (KNRRC):
