Online application makes business licences easier, more convenient

Obtaining and renewing a business licence in Beaumont just got easier with a new online application service.

As part of its Digital Master Plan, the City of Beaumont is making more services available online, starting with business licensing in January. Other services, including residential development and building permits, will be available in the coming months.

The new online service lets businesses apply for and renew their licence conveniently from a computer, smartphone, or tablet. Applicants can also pay online, check the status of their application, and receive real-time notifications.

Like most municipalities, the City of Beaumont licences businesses to maintain a registry of businesses operating in the community, track economic development, and help ensure compliance with land use, consumer protection and other regulations. Putting more services online enhances access for citizens and reduces paperwork and the administrative burden for the City.

For more business licensing information, visit the city’s website.
