Share your thoughts

Beaumont RCMP is looking for your input into policing priorities for the City of Beaumont. It is very important to Staff Sergeant Dhaliwal, Detachment Commander, to hear from the community about your thoughts on policing and how we can improve policing service in Beaumont.

Please list your three top priorities for your police department. Feel free to write any comments you wish to share as well, the good and the bad. Email RCMP.KBeaumontAdmin.GRC@rcmp-grc.gc.ca with your priorities and comments. Thank you for sharing your thoughts by March 1.

Operation Cold Start

Beaumont RCMP will be conducting proactive patrols in the community to seek out idling vehicles left unattended. This is a proactive initiative to educate community members about risks associated with leaving vehicles idling. “Alberta has the highest per capita auto theft rate in the country, and approximately 25 per cent of those vehicles are stolen while idling with the keys in the vehicle,” explained RCMP Superintendent Mike McCauley of the Community Safety and Wellbeing Branch. “This drives up insurance rates for these crimes. During the project, this educational component will ideally change Albertan’s habits. It is a small investment tackling one of the root causes of this crime.”
