Are you passionate about creating a better community through high-quality urban design? The City of Beaumont is accepting applications for its new Design Review Committee. This opportunity is open to five individuals for two-year terms. This committee is a voluntary, skills-based panel that provides expert and impartial design advice on proposed developments.
The City seeks:
- three committee members who are design professionals (expertise in the fields of architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, planning, or engineering)
- one member from the local development industry; and
- one member-at-large from the community who brings some lived experience with accessibility challenges (either personal or professional).
As part of the Design Review Committee, successful applicants will help developers and builders working in Beaumont understand the values and qualities that make this place unique and remarkable. Committee members will provide direction and recommendations to City staff that help ensure the ongoing development of attractive buildings that reflect Beaumont’s French heritage and our city’s evolving role as an urban centre.
Applications are open from June 23 to August 15. All applicants will be contacted, regarding the status of their applications. Appointments will be made by August 31, 2021.
The City of Beaumont is an equal-opportunity employer and values diversity. All opportunities are decided on the basis of qualifications, merit and business need.
