[ARCHIVED] The frontline draws the line against bullying

Pink Shirt RCMP and ME 2021

Beaumont RCMP members and Beaumont Municipal Enforcement Officers proudly show their support for Pink Shirt Day. Emergency first responders often attend incidents that involve bullying and therefore witness firsthand the devastating impact it can have on individuals, families, and the community. Pink Shirt Day began in 2007 when a student in Nova Scotia was bullied for wearing a pink shirt to school. It has since been recognized annually worldwide as a day to stand against bullying.

Bullying can happen to anyone and it is a mean, hurtful or cruel behaviour that is done on purpose, the four types of bullying are verbal, physical, social and cyber. Youth who are being bullied can show signs of depression, social anxiety, loneliness, isolation, stress related health problems (e.g., headaches, stomachaches), Low self-esteem, School absenteeism and academic problems, aggressive behaviours, contemplating, attempting, or committing suicide.

Report all bullying to school administrators and report all criminal offences to the RCMP.

The following resources are available to get help anonymously:
