NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

BYLAW 982-20 RUISSEAU REDISTRICTING

 

The Council of the City of Beaumont is holding a Public Hearing for Bylaw 982-20 Ruisseau Redistricting to amend Bylaw 944-19 Our Zoning Blueprint: Land Use Bylaw. The Public Hearing will be held via live stream on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. and may be viewed at www.youtube.com/c/BeaumontAbCaT4X

The Land Use Bylaw controls the use and development of land and buildings in Beaumont. The purpose of Bylaw 982-20 Ruisseau Redistricting is to amend the Land Use Bylaw by redistricting a portion of N.W. ¼ Section 27-50-24-W4M in the Ruisseau neighbourhood from Agricultural Holdings (AH) District to Conventional Neighborhood District (CN) and Integrated Neighborhood District (IN) to facilitate future development. The subject land is located in west Beaumont, east of Range Road 243 and north of the Montrose and Four Seasons Estates neighbourhoods.

The Integrated Neighborhood District is intended to accommodate a combined school/park site, and the Conventional Neighborhood District is intended for low density residential development, in accordance with the Ruisseau Outline Plan.

Any person who wishes to present to Council during the public hearing must pre-register with the City Clerk’s Office, city.clerk@beaumont.ab.ca or 780-929-1352, before 12:00 noon on Wednesday, July 8, 2020.

Written submissions may be provided to the City Clerk’s Office at 5600 49 Street, Beaumont AB T4X 1A1 or via email, clearly labelled “Re: Ruisseau Redistricting Public Hearing.” Submissions received by 12:00 noon on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 will be included in the agenda package. Submissions received after this date will be read into the public record prior to any oral presentations. The personal information in submissions is collected under the authority of the Alberta Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, S. 33(c) for the purpose of public participation in decision making. It will be publicly available in accordance with S. 40(1) of the Act.

Procedure at the Public Hearing:

  1. Administration will present the purpose and effect of the proposed bylaw.
  2. Council will hear:
    • any person or group of persons acting on their behalf who claim to be affected by the proposed bylaw and have registered to make a presentation;
    • any other person who has registered to make a presentation and whom Council agrees to hear.
