BEAUMONT
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
BYLAW NUMBER 973-20
The Council of City of Beaumont is holding a Public Hearing for Bylaw 973-20 to repeal the Town of Beaumont and Leduc County Intermunicipal Development Plan. The Public Hearing will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at 6:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers of the Beaumont Administration Office located at 5600 - 49 Street, Beaumont.
An Intermunicipal Development Plan is a statutory plan that addresses growth along shared boundaries. The City of Beaumont and Leduc County are members of the Edmonton Metropolitan Growth Board and are not required to have an Intermunicipal Development Plan. In addition, the City of Beaumont, Leduc County, and City of Edmonton have approved an Intermunicipal Planning Framework to address growth along shared boundaries, including land use and transportation, which fulfills the core functions and benefits of an Intermunicipal Development Plan. Therefore, the City of Beaumont and Leduc County have agreed to repeal Bylaw 485/98 Intermunicipal Development Plan.
For more information about the proposed bylaw contact the City Clerk between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Beaumont’s Administration Office. The bylaw may also be viewed at https://www.beaumont.ab.ca/DocumentCenter/View/4489/Bylaw-973-20
