Skating Rinks

As Canadians, skating is in our blood. In Beaumont, it's one of our favourite things to do. Find information on our outdoor rinks, including rules and rink closures.

Some outdoor rinks are open for the season! Check back for status updates to see which rinks are safe to skate on.

Here are a few housekeeping rules as you enjoy skating this season!

  • Please use approved parking, and do not park on the surrounding park land.
  • Clean up after yourselves, and be considerate of others.
  • Rinks may be closed for safety reasons; please respect closures.

Please read the indoor arena rules before lacing up at one of our skating rinks.

The City of Beaumont features nine outdoor rinks, including boarded concrete and grass rinks, and a Lions RV skate trail.

Outdoor rinks may be closed due to weather conditions, staff availability or at the discretion of the operators.

SHARED USE: Please share the ice! Shared use includes all ages participating in general skating and stick & puck. No organized games please.

PUBLIC SKATE: No equipment on the ice, such as sticks, pucks, etc. Skate aids that won’t damage the ice are allowed.

SHINNY: Gameplay opportunity for all ages and skill levels. Body-checking, rough play and slap shots are prohibited. We ask that players rotate for ice time if needed, play safe and have fun!

During warm weather or extreme cold, ice rinks may be closed due to safety risks. Crews will reopen rinks once conditions are suitable and safe again for skating to resume.

Check out current rink conditions to plan your outdoor skating activities. Current conditions are listed for each location, and rinks that are closed will also be marked with signage at the facility.

Rink maintenance

Outdoor rink maintenance follows the City’s service levels. Maintenance checks are done daily for safety. Crews aim to complete maintenance activities before noon. Sometimes maintenance can be influenced by other winter priorities and weather-related factors.
