Bellevue Rink Replacement Project
As part of our dedication to increase quality of life for our ice skating locations within Beaumont, we will be undertaking a rink replacement for our Bellevue Rink located at Bellevue School, 5103-50 Ave.
- We will be preparing the surrounding community and school for the upcoming construction (scheduled for late spring/early summer).
- Construction of the rink base and installation of sod will follow and be completed by fall of this year (2022).
- We are planning to remove the rink shack to improve the drainage with plans to reinstall the shack once that is completed.
- The access road and parking lot will be reworked in 2023.
The concession at Four Seasons Park is getting an upgrade. This work will address two areas. The old asphalt around the concession will be removed, and replaced with a new patio. The trail from the entrance to the concession will be improved, fixing the grade and making it more accessible, including resurfacing.
Timeline:
Preparation work will start this year, with completion in 2022.
In-House:
Work will be done by City crews.
Starting July 21st, 2021, utility repairs will begin as part of the 2021 Water and Wastewater Renewal Program. During this construction activity, we would like to remind all residents and their guest to follow posted safety signage and warnings and to use caution in the vicinity of construction activity. Attached to this project tab is a map showing the location and phases for the working being done.
During this work program, disruptions may occur to water, sanitary and road access to your residence. The contractor performing this work, PME, will advise effected residents in advance of any disruptions and actions will be taken to minimize these disruptions. Temporary water services will be put in place during this period.
- Phase One: July 5th - July 24th
- Phase Two: July 21st - September 8th
- Phase Three: September 9th - October 8th
The work will include:
- Installation of new sanitary sewers under existing roads.
- Installation of new sanitary services from the new sanitary main to property line. A cleanout/access portal will be installed for each service near property line.
- Installation of new water service from the existing watermain to the Curb Cock (also referred to as a CC, CC Valve, or Curb Stop). The location of existing CC’s will vary, but they are likely exposed on property line on your driveway or front lawn.
- Remediation of all disturbed areas.
Our Infrastructure team has started conducting rodent control for 2022. This initiative will run from April 26 to November 15. We are treating for Richardson Ground Squirrels due to their invasive nature of entering properties and digging holes throughout park land which creates a dangerous hazard for our residents.
⚠ Colonial Soccer Field, the RCMP Office, and St. Vital Church are all being treated.
⚠ Our teams will be out daily between the hours of 6 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
⚠ The holes will be treated and refilled as necessary during this process.
⚠ Warning signs are out 24 hours in advance of control as well as 48 hours after control has happened.
⚠ The product we are using is an environmentally friendly foam. Within minutes the foam dissipates to nothing leaving the ground to only look wet.
Our Infrastructure team will be conducting weed spraying around the sport fields, schools, and shrub beds to prepare for the school year. This is to remove noxious and broadleaf weeds. Weather permitting, this project will run from May 1 to October 31.
⚠ Treatment will occur on city owned property where needed.
⚠ Warning signs are out 24 hours in advance of control as well as 48 hours after control has happened. The product information will be listed on the signs in the area being treated.
⚠ The warning signs will be placed at each spray site indicating the chemical used, target dates, and re-entry time.
⚠ Our teams will be out daily between the hours of 6 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
⚠ All applications will be performed by a licensed pesticide applicator.
We are conducting tree pruning throughout the City to help maintain healthy canopy covers. Pruning will start August 8, and run for approximately two weeks (weather dependent).
⚠ Pruning will occur where needed throughout the City. This may include any trees on or near your property as determined by City owned land.
⚠ Please keep a look out for equipment and vehicles over the next two weeks.
⚠ Branches, leaves and tree material will be disposed of correctly throughout the project.
