[ARCHIVED] Notice of Public Hearing Bylaw Number 959-19

The Council of City of Beaumont is holding a Public Hearing for Bylaw 959-19 Lakeview Redistricting to amend Bylaw 944-19 Our Zoning Blueprint: Land Use Bylaw. The Public Hearing will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at 6:00 p.m., in the Beaumont Council Chambers located at 5600 - 49 Street, Beaumont.

The Land Use Bylaw controls the use and development of land and buildings in Beaumont. The purpose of Bylaw 959-19, Lakeview Redistricting, is to amend the Land Use Bylaw by redistricting the south half of the plan area (a portion of S.E. ¼ Section 26-50-24-W4M) from Agricultural Holdings (AH) District to Conventional Neighborhood District (CN), Integrated Neighborhood District (IN) and Commercial District (C) to facilitate future development. The subject land is located within southeast Beaumont adjacent to Highway 625 to the south and Range Road 241 to the east.

The Conventional Neighborhood District (CN) is intended for low density residential development in Lakeview. The Integrated Neighborhood District (IN) is planned for blended, medium and high density residential along with greenway housing. The Commercial District (C) will be developed as a mixed use site with residential and commercial uses. Trails, parks and a school site are integrated throughout, in accordance with the Lakeview Area Structure Plan.

Procedure at the Public Hearing:

Presentation of the purpose and effect of the proposed bylaw amendment.

Council will hear:

  • any person or group of persons acting on his or their behalf who claim to be affected by the proposed bylaw;
  • any other person who wishes to make a presentation and whom the Council agrees to hear.

Written submissions received by the Supervisor, Legislative Services on or before noon on November 12, 2019 will be recognized prior to any oral submissions.
