DESCRIPTION:Calling all youth ages 14-19! \nLooking for a fun way to gain work or volunteer experience this summer? Join the Beaumont and District Agricultural Society at our facility fairground for our Youth Info Nights! Held on Saturday nights from 5 to 8 pm\, you can expect a games\, prizes\, a free pizza supper\, guest presentations on various agricultural topics and brainstorming for our new programming! We will also be doing a walking tour around our 71 acre property\, so come prepared to explore! All are welcome to attend\, we hope to see you there! \nRegister online to attend >> \nThanks to a generous grant from the Canada Post Community Foundation\, BADAS is able to start up youth programming\, mainly a Youth Market Farm and a Youth Club with an executive committee. Youth participating in the Market Farm will get entrepreneurial experience as they work together to grow their own garden\, and then sell it for profit! Youth on the Youth Club Executive Committee will get to work together to form a club\, and plan events and promote agriculture with the youth of Beaumont and the surrounding region. Both will be supported by BADAS staff and volunteers.

DESCRIPTION:Come one\, come all and join us for a Bee Box Building Workshop! We are partnering with Alberta Native Bee Council to help endangered bumblebees! You will learn how to identify\, help and build habitat for bumblebees\, Alberta’s most recognizable native bee! In Alberta\, one bumblebee species is ranked as Critically Imperiled (Bombus bohemicus)\, and four are ranked as Vulnerable! And\, more than one-quarter of North American bumble bees are facing some degree of extinction risk! \nEach registration only includes one bee box\, but you can attend with a friend. Participants aged 16 and under must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Pre-registration is required and can be completed via Eventbrite.
