What is the difference between “high-intensity” exercise, and “low-intensity” exercise?

The recently updated Alberta Health Order defines a high-intensity physical activity as an activity that results in significantly increased respiration rates in a person. A low-intensity activity does not result in significantly increased respiration rates.
