- Alcohol Park Pilot Project
Adults will be able to drink alcoholic beverages at designated picnic tables within Four Season Park this summer.
Council approved the four-month pilot project in response to a public survey in which a majority of residents said the City of Beaumont should consider allowing the limited consumption of alcohol in parks.
The pilot will run from June 1 to September 30 and the results, along with feedback from residents, will help Council determine whether drinking in parks should be continued, if changes are necessary, or if it should not continue.
Alberta legislation limits where public consumption of alcohol is allowed. You can only drink at picnic tables in Four Seasons Park where signs are posted. Drinking is not permitted away from these areas and near the spray park.
