Roadway Snow Removal

As snow continues to accumulate and windrows are formed on the side of roads, we begin to remove snow in a priority sequence.

There are four (4) grouped service level priorities and a total of seven (7) total service level priorities for snow removal:

Priority	Roadways		Snow Conditions and Timeframe
1	50 Street Centreville School Zones Inner Ring Road Outer Ring Road Collectors connecting Outer Ring Road to Exterior Roads:
	a	50 Street from 52 Avenue to 49 Avenue	Cleared to maintain on-street parking within 24 hours
	b	School Zones	Maintain two-way traffic - no timeline
	c	50 Street from 55 Avenue to 52 Avenue, Inner Ring Road, Outer Ring Road, Collectors connecting Outer Ring Road to Exterior Roads	Maintain two-way traffic - no timeline
2	Residential Roads Parking Lots Alleys
	a	Residential Through Roads	After Priority 1 is complete and In excess of 15 cm snowpack measured from the centre of the road
	b	Residential Non-Through (Local Traffic Only)Roads Cul-de-sacs	After Priority 1 is complete and in excess of 20 cm snowpack measured from the centre of the road
3	Residential through Roads		Will be evaluated after Priority 1 and 2 have been cleared
4	Parking Lots		Will be evaluated after Priority 1 to 3 have been cleared

Snow removal may occur on any street, road or lane at any time if the street becomes impassable for emergency response vehicles. Snowpack is measured from the center of residential roads.
