When weather conditions dictate that it would be prudent for Beaumont to enact a method of lessening the chances of a fire due to outside pleasure fires, 1 of 3 declarations are made. These are either a fire advisory, a fire restriction, or a fire ban.
Fire Advisory
Prohibited
- No new permits will be issued, existing permits are still in effect
Permitted
- Wood, briquette and propane/natural gas fires within designated fire pits
- CSA or UL standard approved:
- Portable propane fire pits when placed within designated fire pits
- Liquid or gas fueled lanterns (enclosed flame)
- Liquid or gas fueled stoves and BBQs designed for cooking
Fire Restrictions
Prohibited
- Wood, briquette and propane/natural gas fires outside designated fire pits
- Turkey fryers and tiki torches
Permitted
- Wood, briquette and propane/natural gas fires within designated fire pits
- CSA or UL standard approved:
- Portable propane fire pits when placed within designated fire pits
- Liquid or gas fueled lanterns (enclosed flame)
- Liquid or gas fueled stoves and BBQs designed for cooking
Fire Ban
Prohibited
- All solid fuel fires
- Patio heaters, turkey fryers and Tiki torches
Permitted
- Liquid or gas fueled stoves and BBQs designed for cooking that meet CSA or UL standards
- Liquid or gas fueled lanterns (enclosed flame) that meet CSA or UL standards
Cancellation of a Fire Ban or Fire Restriction
