Budget Process

Do you have project ideas that could positively impact our community in the future? We want to know about them!

Call for Resident Input

Each year, the budget process begins with a call to residents to provide project or service ideas that they would like to be considered in coming years. The submissions are prioritized based on the six key focus areas identified in Beaumont's Strategic Plan:

  • Communication/Citizen Engagement
  • Community Identity
  • Complete Community
  • Economic Development
  • Fiscal and Asset Management
  • People Services

Here's how it works:

  • Residents are asked to submit budget ideas by email or using the online survey - June
  • Staff compile information for consideration in the next Strategic Plan - May to July
  • The Committee of the Whole reviews the submissions - July
  • The information is integrated into the budget process - August to December.

Ideas are integrated into the budget process:

  • Budget workshop
  • Budget presentation to Council
  • Budget open houses
  • Budget adopted by Council
