Subdivision & Redistricting

Prior to the Town of Beaumont reviewing a subdivision and redistricting/rezoning application there must be a Council Approved Outline Plan in place for the neighbourhood. Your subdivision application may be subject to the Off-Site Levy Bylaw.

Requirements

The Town Land Use Bylaw - Districts Map identifies the various district/zoning within the Town.

muNicipal planning commission

The Municipal Planning Commission makes decisions on subdivision applications within the corporate boundaries of the Town of Beaumont. Membership consists of the General Manager, three Department Managers and one Councillor. Before approving an application the Commission must consider the following:

  • whether the land is suitable for the proposed use
  • the impact on, or effect of, adjacent land uses
  • the requirements of the Municipal Government Act and Subdivision and Development regulations
  • local statutory plans and the Land Use By-law
  • the need to balance the rights of the individual with the needs of the community
