Municipal Elections

The Town of Beaumont will be conducting a municipal election
on Monday, October 18, 2010.

This is your opportunity to exercise your right to vote!

Elections will be held for the following positions

  • Mayor
  • Councillors (6)

Who is eligible to vote?
You can vote in the Town of Beaumont municipal election if you are:

  • 18 years of age
  • A Canadian citizen
  • Resided in Alberta for six months preceding the election (i.e., April 18, 2010)
  • Living in the municipality on election day

Where and when does the 2010 election take place?
Municipal elections take place every three years, on the third Monday in October. 2010’s election will be held on Monday, October 18. All voting for Town of Beaumont residents will take place at the St. Vital Seniors Centre (5204A – 50th Avenue). The polls will be open from 10a.m. to 8p.m.

When is Nomination Day, and what do I have to do in order to file my nomination form?
Nomination forms can be submitted between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 12:00 noon on Monday, September 20th, 2010. No nominations will be received after 12:00 noon (fax or e-mailed forms will not be accepted).

You may wish to file the form in person; however, anyone can file it on your behalf as long as it is fully and correctly completed. Your nomination must be filed on the prescribed form, signed by at least five people who are eligible to vote in the election.
